It's hard to understand, but many of us will spend too much time shopping for clothes, but too little time on our own personal hygiene. Unlike a jacket or a sweater, our skin isn't something we can change out like some trendy Fall fashion, so it's even more important that we eat the right foods, and use the right products (moisturizers, soaps, etc.) to ensure that our skin remains healthy, because it's the only skin we have!
But you know, even when we do all of the right things, we still can't all be blessed with perfect complexions and skin tones, and so we look to a skin professional, an acne dermatologist (or in New York Manhattan dermatologist) to help treat our skin. These professionals know what treatments can improve our appearance, what techniques we can implement at home to improve our skin tones, and what medicines or topicals we can apply in order to make our skin more healthy-looking and natural.
While we can't control our genetics (yet?), we still have the ability to scrub and clean and moisturize. No, we're not at the point where science fiction has met reality and we can order new skins online, and unless we're a victim of a fire or other unfortunate or tragic burning, we're not able to access skin grafting techniques in order to appease our sense of vanity. But we can look to methods such as laser therapy or chemical peels in order to reduce some of our imperfections.
Just remember that our skin is an organ in our body, and regular hygiene and a healthy diet is probably going to be more useful that expensive creams and lotions. Take care of yourself and your skin appreciate it. |
